The Cherry Fund gives back to our community in different ways:
GRANTS: Direct Grant Program (General Fund) – From our General Fund, The Cherry Fund supports and addresses the physical health needs of our community. In addition, The Cherry Fund works with LGBTQIA and other like-minded health-based companies and nonprofits to bring critical health and safe sex information to our participants through onsite exhibition as well as onsite HIV/AIDS Testing.
GRANTS: Barry Smythers Fund (Mental Health Fund) – The Barry Smythers Fund was created in honor of Barry Smythers, one of our strongest supporters and volunteers who unexpectedly took his own life. Funding from this program will support mental health and support group programs throughout the DMV area.
PARTNERSHIPS – Funding from our partnership programs is allocated to nonprofit organizations and programming partners that have actively supported The Cherry Fund and made a significant impact in our community. We prioritize organizations that demonstrate a commitment to serving the LGBTQ+ community and addressing critical needs. Our partners are those who have collaborated with us in various initiatives, showcasing a shared dedication to community well-being.
TICKET DONATION – The Cherry Fund is committed to empowering nonprofit organizations by providing tickets and passes for their fundraising efforts. This support is specifically aimed at organizations that have not received funding from any other programs. Nonprofits can utilize these tickets and passes as part of their own fundraising initiatives, helping to raise critical funds for their missions. By supporting organizations that may face financial challenges, we help enhance their ability to serve the LGBTQ+ community effectively.
VOLUNTEERS – At The Cherry Fund, we believe in the power of community engagement and support. From time to time, we actively recruit and provide volunteers to various organizations within our community. We facilitate connections between passionate individuals and nonprofit organizations that need support, helping to strengthen community ties. By providing volunteers, we assist organizations in expanding their reach and enhancing their programs, ensuring they can better serve the LGBTQ+ community. We offer opportunities for individuals to gain valuable experience, develop new skills, and make a meaningful impact while contributing to important causes.
